After doing
some research on a man by the name of Bill Meyers, it turns out that he
has a huge following and some interesting stories.
According to
an online marketer I interviewed, Meyers promoted the idea of getting
product ideas from your local used bookstore.
When you
think about it, it’s a really great idea. If you can’t come up
with any ideas by-yourself, just go to a used bookstore and search for
books with catchy, attention grabbing names.
Meyers
lectures that the main reason to focus your efforts on used book stores
is because you need to find old books that have been forgotten.
If you find an older book, it may be easier to contact the author, lest
the book be too old. You may be able to get in contact with the author
and obtain rights to re-publish the book online for a 5% to 10%
royalty. Furthermore, the authors of these older and out of print
books may be willing to make a good deal with you. Meyers even
suggests that the renewed interest in the publication may flatter the
author, thus making them friendlier towards your proposition.
Based on the interviews I
conducted, I actually have learned a lot about Myers. The big
thing is that he is one really crafty internet marketer and deserves my
utmost respect. Recently, I started to make an effort to contact
Myers directly for an interview. After an interview with Myers, I
would consider my famous collection of marketers complete.
