Bob Proctor
Based on my sources, Bob Proctor
was a high school drop out in the 1960’s. He was on the road to no
where and went from one dead-end job to the next. It may have been
destiny, but he read a book entitled Think and Grow Rich which switched
on a light bulb in his head. After a brief time, he packed his things
and moved to Chicago to work for his real-life mentors, Lloyd Conant
and Earl Nightingale. He would rise to super star status in the
organization of Nightingale-Conant and was appointed Vice President of
Sales. This experience gave him the confidence to start his own seminar
company which he still remains extremely active.
Proctor also worked with the Prudential Insurance Company for several
years. Between 1973 and 1993, he formulated custom programs for well
over 20,000 sales people which helped bring the firm straight to the
top. In 1995 and 1996, Proctor helped RE/MAX International by providing
further custom training to at least 1,000 of their sales members.
Proctor’s clientele includes: Keller Real Estate, IBM, Metropolitan
Life, Hayes Wheels, Malaysia Airlines and many others.
I’ve reviewed some of Proctor’s package and I believe that he’s an
intelligent and wise man, but I feel that his commercial is a bit
misleading because it contains vague theories that do not tell you
enough about how to actually go out and make money. When you watch the
infomercial, he implies that he will provide you a step by step guide
to making money, which he obviously does not.
Thus, I believe that Proctor places too much emphasis on the spiritual
side of making money, productivity and personal self image, while
ignoring the critical step-by-step guide to go about making it. Let’s
face it, these aspects are important primers to building wealth, but
in-and-of-themselves will not provide you the actual tools to make
income. Real income derives from being able to follow a specific
process that will continually bring in money. Proctor can boost your
motivation to make money, but he does not provide you with the ability
(in this case the process) to do it. That would have to be the biggest
thing he is missing.
Therefore, Bob Proctor is actually a motivational speaker similar to
Anthony Robbins. He is great if you need some motivation, but he is not
the guy you go to for an actual money making process. There are better
sources to generating money.
